Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of some of our most frequently asked customer questions.
Of course, if you have a question you don't see here, shoot us an email, and we'll get back to you right away! :-)
Dog Walking
- Do you do group walks?
No. We only do one-on-one walks with the same daily dog walker. We want your dog(s) to receive the best quality individualized attention for the entire walk.
- What are the advantages of a dog walker over daycare or kennels?
Doggie daycare can reinforce undesirable behavior in your dog and may cause anxiety from a new and ever-changing environment. Many common dog illnesses can also be contracted in the daycare and kennel environment, making it unsafe for puppies and some older dogs. A dog walker allows your dog to maintain their regular schedule in their familiar environment, while providing you both with the best possible personal attention and care.
- What happens if my dog becomes injured in your care?
This is a good question and one owers should ask of any service provider. First, we'll immediately assess the situation, get all parties' information, contact you and take your dog for medical treatment if necessary. Accidents are very rare and when they do happen they are usually a result of an interaction between us and an irresponsible third party, not between dogs under our care.
Services
- What happens if my pet requires medical attention in my absence?
We will ask you to sign an emergency contact form which will remain on file. By signing this form you agree that we may seek medical attention for your pet in your absence. We will make every effort to take your pet to your veterinarian, but if they are unable to be reached, your pet will be taken to an emergency clinic in the immediate area. Woodward Pet Sitting requests that you contact your vet, so they may make a note in your pet’s file that we are authorized to seek medical attention for your pet.

- Will you visit in harsh weather?
Don’t worry, we won’t melt. We all have all-weather gear for rainy/cold/snowy days. If it rains, remember to leave out a towel so we can dry off your loved one. If your dog hates the rain, we’ll just go out for a quick potty break and spend the rest of the time playing inside. In extreme weather, (heat waves, blizzards, thunderstorms, etc) services may be modified for the safety of everyone involved.
- What times do you visit?
Normal pet sitting hours are from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. every day of the week. You can choose within a 2 hour time slot (for adult dogs and cats) and a 1 hour time slot (for puppies up to a year old) when you would like us to visit, which we will do our best to accommodate in order to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible. Most people choose visits every 4-8 hours for pet sitting visits, when they're out of town.
- Do you offer any training services?
We can take any dog out of their current environment and get them on the right path. The problem is as soon as they return home, their behavior will adjust to whomever is around and whatever rules and pack dynamic is or isn't being reinforced. All relationships boil down to trust and respect. We work with owners on training their wonderful companions, one moment at a time.
